About our Project

EURECIA is an academic research project funded from 2009 to 2011 via a co-ordination and support action grant of the EU Seventh Framework Programme’s Ideas Programme.

Our international, multi-disciplinary team is led by Dr Maria Nedeva of the University of Manchester. EURECIA is developing and applying a novel methodology to understand and to assess better the dynamics of the European research system and impacts upon it that can be attributed to the funding schemes of the European Research Council (ERC). EURECIA will conclude with an international conference in 2011 to share the findings of our work.

You can read about our project’s ideas, themes and activities using the links on the right. For details about the ERC’s and EU FP7 support and funding of our research click the sponsors and partners link. Information about the academics driving our research project and about our advisory committee are in the team section. If you’re interested in our outputs, the resource centre has a range of materials, including conference and working papers by the team. Shorter updates about the project and opinion pieces from the team are on our news blog.

If you’re interested in attending the EURECIA final conference please do contact us to be added to our mailing list. You will then be amongst the first to be informed once the arrangements are confirmed. We will also post details about the conference on our news blog. You subscribe to the blog’s feed using your favourite RSS reader. If there’s any other aspect of our work you’d like to discuss with us or with any member of the team, you are welcome to get in touch via our contact section or the email address shown below.
