Dissemination and Knowledge Transfer

Many aspects of our EURECIA project are novel and challenging. Our approach should be of interest to both the academic research and policy research communities.

Our findings could have value for policy-makers and political implications right across the European Research Area (ERA). We therefore chose to design into the EURECIA project engagement with relevant stakeholders to help us to disseminate our methodological approaches and findings as broadly as possible. This should not only allow us to spread our ideas, results, and transfer our insights widely but also will help create dialogue with stakeholders for mutual learning and for the testing and improvement of our approach. Our website has been an integral part of this engagement and dissemination strategy.

Discourse with academics working on science funding and science governance was a natural part of our work. We have high-level, renowned experts working within our project team who have access to many relevant networks and dissemination activities such as conferences, journals and workshops of various kinds.

The EURECIA project also had a high-level advisory committee. We also held various formal and informal feedback workshops during the EURECIA project. These engaged with policy-makers, research organisations and academics in Europe. We have also been in close interaction with the ERC and have attended various European Commission (EC) events.

EURECIA provided an email mailing list sign-up facility via our contact page. Our news blog also provided updates about developments within the EURECIA project.

All of these engagement and dissemination efforts are to culminate in the EURECIA final project conference to be held in March 2012, in Brussels.

Professor Jakob Edler led this work, in close collaboration with Dr Maria Nedeva, Dr Duncan Thomas and Dr Yanuar Nugroho from the University of Manchester team.
